Compositeur, arrangeur et guitariste né à Córdoba (Argentine), Leonardo Sánchez y débute sa formation musicale jusqu’à l’obtention du Diplôme de professeur de guitare.

Il poursuit ses études à Paris (Prix d’Excellence et Licence de musicologie) et étudie le jazz avec Ivan Jullien (arrangement et orchestration) et Pierre Cullaz (guitare et improvisation).

Très tôt, il a arrangé et composé pour divers ensembles, il a collaboré et enregistré avec de nombreux musiciens, tels que Juan José Mosalini, Michel Portal, Laurent Korcia, Jaïro, Thierry Caens, Patrice Caratini, Marcel Azzolla, Michel Piquemal, Antonio et Pablo Agri, Gianmaria Testa, Alberto Cortéz... se produisant dans de prestigieuses salles internationales.

Bercé depuis son enfance par les musiques populaires Latino-Américaines, il a arrangé et composé pour divers ensembles, ‘voyageant’ entre musique classique et populaire. Leonardo Sánchez a également effectué pendant plusieurs années un travail approfondi sur le Tango Argentin traditionnel et contemporain pour plusieurs formations.

Il fut le cofondateur et directeur musical du groupe GOMINA ; directeur et interprète du spectacle « Revolver : el Fantasma del Río de la Plata » avec Jaïro ; également directeur, arrangeur et interprète de « Crime Passionnel » d’Astor Piazzolla et Pierre Philippe avec Jean Guidoni, ou encore arrangeur et interprète de « Paris Tango » de J.J. Mosalini et Horacio Ferrer.

Comme interprète, il se produit régulièrement en duo avec le pianiste Cristian Zárate, en trio avec Esquina de César Stroscio, Voyage Sextet de Patrice Caratini, Alma Cuarteto ou encore le Sexteto Ruta 40.

Depuis 2014, il est professeur de guitare titulaire dans les conservatoires du XIIe et XXe arrondissements de Paris.

Cradled since his childhood by popular Latin American music, he has arranged and composed for various ensembles, 'travelling' between classical and popular music. Leonardo Sánchez also carried out for several years an in-depth work on traditional and contemporary Argentine Tango for several formations.

He was the co-founder and musical director of the group GOMINA; director and performer of the show “Revolver: el Fantasma del Río de la Plata” with Jaïro; also director, arranger and performer of “Crime Passionnel” by Astor Piazzolla and Pierre Philippe with Jean Guidoni, or even arranger and performer of “Paris Tango” by J.J. Mosalini and Horacio Ferrer.
